IEBC Vice-Chairperson Juliana Cherera said to conduct a transparent election; the commission will give media houses access to electoral information and called the media to be factual, ethical, and professional in their reporting.

“IEBC is referee, political parties are the players, ORPP Kenya is the coach. Similarly, media is the voice and IEBC is the content. This will make the voice have the right content,” Cherera said.

While speaking in the United States, the deputy president expressed concerns about the upcoming General Election saying there was a conspiracy to tilt the August 9, presidential results.

Ruto who has bitterly fallen out with his boss alleged that there was a deliberate attempt by a group of State actors to weaponise the criminal justice system so it acts in their favour.

“There is a lot of blackmail, intimidation, and use of criminal justice system to intimidate leaders to ask people to vote in a certain way. I am very confident that the will of the people of Kenya will prevail,” William Ruto said on Wednesday, March 2.

He appealed to the global community to intervene and help stop attempts by his bitter rivals to influence the outcome of the upcoming elections in which he is expected to vie for the presidency against Raila Odinga and others.
