During a meeting in Kiambu County, Jimmy Wanjigi also revealed his friendship with President Uhuru dates back to when they were in primary school- St Mary’s primary school, Nairobi.

“He came to my house in 2010 accompanied by William Ruto, they told me ‘we know you are a strategist, please, we are being prosecuted by the whites, help us,” Jimmy Wanjigi said.

The ODM presidential aspirant said President Uhuru Kenyatta gave him four reasons why he needed his help in getting him and Ruto from the shackles of the ICC.

“He said; 1, the name of his father had been ruined because he (Uhuru) had helped his people not to be killed (during the 2007/08 post-election violence. 2, he said his (Uhuru’s) name will disappear, should he be convicted of crimes against humanity by ICC. 3, he feared the name of his children will disappear upon conviction and lastly he said if he will be jailed, his money would disappear,” narrated Wanjigi.

Jimmy Wanjigi explained that he listened to Uhuru’s plea and promised to offer him financial support to get off the ICC hook.

“But I told President Uhuru one thing, should you be jailed by ICC, all the Mt Kenya region people shall be considered murderers… and I do not want the people known as freedom fighters to be referred to as murders,” Wanjigi went on.

A year after he helped the duo out of ICC, Wanjigi said they turned against him using state agencies like Kenya Revenue Authority to frustrate him.

“I wondered, these two people that I helped are the once harassing me because I am criticising corruption and borrowing in the Jubilee government,?” Jimmy Wanjigi went on in his address to ODM grassroots supporters.

It is for this reason, he said, that he opted to link up with Raila Odinga. Promising to teach Uhuru and Ruto a lesson in the 2017 General Election, an election in which Raila lost the presidential battle to the Jubilee party.

The ODM leader took the matter to the Supreme Court, upon which a presidential re-run was ordered but Raila Odinga declined to participate, instead opting to illegally swear himself in at Uhuru park as the people’s president.

Jimmy Wanjiga recently narrated how he offered a place for Raila Odinga to hide after the mock swearing-in ceremony at Uhuru Park on January 2018.

In an interview with Daily Nation, the billionaire also revealed that he was in the kitchen cabinet that planned Raila’s swearing-in.

“The idea of pre-recording video was out of fear that we may not get to the park on January 30. We could be arrested and the event scattered but we had three approaches,

“One was to have the video, two was a plan to have a secret venue if we could not get to Uhuru Park and the final option was the Uhuru Park rally,”  he revealed.
