Jimmy Wanjigi warns Kenyans against a Raila presidency ‘he will be a dictator’

by Enock Ndayala

Businessman-cum-politician Jimmy Wanjigi has pleaded with Kenyans not to vote for the ODM leader saying Raila Odinga will introduce dictatorship.

Speaking on Sunday, February 20, after attending a Church service at PCEA Kerarapon in Ngong Kajiado County, the presidential hopeful accused Raila of running the ODM party like a dictatorial manner.

He accused former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s party of defiance of the constitution, stating it is a reflection of how the opposition leader will govern the country if given a chance to be the fifth President of the Republic of Kenya.

Businessman-cum-politician Jimmy Wanjigi has pleaded with Kenyan people not to vote for the ODM leader saying Raila Odinga will introduce dictatorship.

“And all those officials who think that this is a time for dictatorship, Kenyans are watching you and I can assure you how you are presenting yourself today is how they know you shall be (when president),” Wanjigi said.

He said the ODM’s National Delegates Conference scheduled for Friday and Saturday this week does not include the agenda item for the conduct of elections to nominate the party’s presidential flag bearer, a clear indication of how Raila does not adhere to the Constitution.

“The Constitution is also very clear that every five years there is an election of the presidential candidate of the party and party officials. But that has been excluded from the notice of the party’s NDC,” he said.

Wanjigi who is seeking to give Raila a run for his money for the ODM presidential flag bearer said he will not attend the NDC.

His remarks come exactly a week after Wanjigi sensationally claimed that he does not see the ODM leader succeeding President Uhuru Kenyatta who is expected to retire in August.

According to him, Raila lacks the support he enjoyed when he ran for the presidency under the National Super Alliance (NASA) coalition.

“The biggest problem I have with my party leader (Raila) is that I do not see his path to power and I believe that this is the time ODM should get to power,” Wanjigi said.
