Sakaja’s wife wore a mustard yellow knee-length dress, black tights, and low heels whereas his two sons wore a sharp grey suit.

His daughter was clad in a pink sweater and an adorable pink dress.

The incoming Nairobi governor was received by his deputy- elect Njoroge Muchiri.

Present during the swearing-in was outgoing governor Ann Kananu, President-elect William Ruto NMS director John Mbadi among other dignitaries.

The President-elect told Sakaja to immediately start working on serving Nairobi residents who have entrusted him with Kenya’s economic hub.

“As Kenya Kwanza team, you made us proud and we have full confidence in you… Sakaja you are a miracle candidate and Nairobi has the best it can have as governor,” Ruto said.

However, during the event, a section of Members of County Assembly (MCAs) allied to the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition party matched out before the governor was sworn in.

Led by Kileleshwa MCA-elect Robert Alai, the county legislators said they were forced to leave the event held at KICC after realizing that there were no seats reserved for them.

“We were invited to attend Sakaja’s swearing-in ceremony and so we attended, but there were no seats for us. So, we have been forced to leave,” Alai said.

He however said that they will work for hand in hand with the fourth governor-elect to ensure he meets his campaign manifesto. “Imagine swearing in the President without the MPs getting seats. We were over 25. Out of the 45 Azimio MCAs. But we want to assure him (Sakaja) that as Azimio MCAs, we are ready to support him,” Alai said.
