by Amos Khaemba

United Democratic Alliance chairman Johnstone Muthama has accused Orange Democratic Movement party leader Raila Odinga of using media to hoodwink Kenyans ahead of the August General Election.

The former Machakos senator cautioned Kenyans to be wary of Raila’s theatrics of using media to show that he can draw crowds.

“This man has lost ground since the handshake. He will be taught a lesson by Kenyans on August 9th, 2022,” Muthama tweeted.

The UDA chair who is also contesting for the Machokas gubernatorial seat, said Raila Odinga has lost the energy and power of the yesteryears.

The former senator is confident that more Kenyans across the country are behind William Ruto and its bottom-up economic model.

Muthama added that people will only vote for candidates who have a clear agenda for the people of Kenya, accusing Raila of having no agenda.

“Any promise that he makes should be treated as a fantasy. He has no agenda for this country. What he has is a boundless thirst for power with the semblance of monarchism,” Muthama said in another added.

Muthama criticism of the media comes after the Radio Africa Group published results of an opinion poll which showed Ruto leading but Raila have closed the gap compared to their last polls.

According to the polls Deputy President William Ruto had a support of 46.1 percentage while Raila Odinga had a support of 35.1 percent.

The same research showed that ODM leader has improved has ratinging in the fight for the Mt. Kenya votes which is one of the largest voting block.

The findings of indicated that no presidential candidate will get the constitutional requirement of 50+1 %, hence a run-off is highly expected for the presidential election.
