As the clock ticks towards next year’s General Election, the 2022 presidential election appears to be a two-horse race between William Ruto and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

Ndaragua Member of Parliament Jeremiah Kioni believes that ODM leader Raila Odinga will beat William Ruto by far in the much-awaited 2022 presidential elections.

Kioni, a member of the Kieleweke faction of Jubilee, said Raila will beat William Ruto by a huge margin since he has managed to grab the Mt Kenya region within days, something that has taken William Ruto almost half a decade to get a slice of.

While dismissing claims that the 2022 presidential elections will be a two-horse race, the 2013 presidential running mate further stated that Raila has already taken control of the huge voting bloc yet he has not declared that he will vie for the presidency.

“If Raila is already pulling crowds in just two months of campaigning yet he has not declared he is vying for the presidency, against Ruto who has been campaigning for four years. This may not be a two-horse race but a one-horse race,” Kioni said as quoted by TV47.

While Raila will be taking his 5th stab at the presidency, William Ruto will be making his first attempt.

Kioni’s remarks come just a day after outspoken Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria predicted a landslide win for Raila Odinga in the 2022 presidential elections.

Kuria argued that should the 2022 State House race be a two-horse race as analysts have said, Raila will get more than 52 percent of the total votes cast while William Ruto will get a mere 47 percent in the whole country.
