Jubilee party ready to welcome corruption suspect Anne Ngirita

by Enock Ndayala

The Jubilee party has dismissed reports that it declined to readmit the National Youth Service (NYS) scandal suspect Anne Ngirita.

This was after it emerged that Ngirita was reportedly asked to present a clearance certificate from the EACC, KRA, and DCI before she can be to join the ruling party.

The Jubilee Party Secretary General Raphael Tuju termed the reports as baseless adding that the party is ready to welcome all members who had switched their allegiance to other parties including UDA, a party heavily linked to Deputy President William Ruto.

The Jubilee party has dismissed reports that it rejected to readmit the National Youth Service (NYS) suspect Anne Ngirita.

“Every UDA member coming back home is most welcome,” Tuju said.

Speaking to journalists at the Jubilee Party Nakuru branch offices on Tuesday, February 15, Ngirita said she had ditched UDA for President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee on whose ticket she intends to contest for the Nakuru Woman Rep position.

She revealed that she had joined UDA out of peer pressure and that her decision to go back home was reached after President Uhuru Kenyatta’s call for unity.

“I did not intend to join UDA but I did that out of peer pressure. It’s not a party I want to be associated with. When Raila and Uhuru asked us to return home, I thought it was okay for us to heed their call,” she said.

Ngirita allegedly made KSh 60 million from NYS scandal through her company Waluco Investments between November 2015 and June 2017 for supplying nothing.

If admitted back to the Jubilee party, Ngirita who has an active case in court is expected to battle it out with incumbent Liza Chelule Chepkorir and Assumpta Muiruri in the August 9, General Election.
