Jubilee Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni has maintained that Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party presidential candidate Raila Odinga beat William Ruto in the 2022 presidential election.

IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati in August 2022 declared William Ruto the president–elect after garnering 7.1 million against former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s 6.9 million.

However, addressing journalists on Wednesday, January 18, the former Ndaragua Member of Parliament claimed that the opposition leader was rigged out.

He said the research done by a non-profit organization in partnership with pro-democracy leaders across the continent reveals that Raila got 8.1 million against President Ruto’s 5.9 million votes.

“We’ve seen that 59 percent of the constituencies with absolute certainty. What can be verified is, Raila Odinga won the elections with 8, 170,355 votes representing 57.53 percent of the total votes cast. Ruto got 5, 915,973 representing 41.66 percent,” Kioni stated.

Kioni who unsuccessfully defended his seat in the 2022 elections stated that the poll agency manipulated the 2022 presidential results in favor of William Ruto.

He said most of the manipulations were done in the vote-rich Mt Kenya region where Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party presidential candidate Raila Odinga did not have agents at every polling station.

Kioni cited that the presidential results from over 144 constituencies were not tallying with those announced by presidential returning officer Wafula Chebukati at the Bomas of Kenya.

“Most of the manipulation happened within the Mt Kenya region. The whistleblower is not hiding his identity…” he added.

Raila protested the results announced by IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati at the Supreme Court of Kenya saying that none of the four presidential candidates achieved the 50 percent plus one vote.

However, the seven judges of the Apex Court dismissed Raila’s presidential petitions terming it as “hot air.”
