Suna East Member of Parliament Junet Mohammed has dismissed William Ruto’s bottom-up 2022 presidential election saying it is meant to steal from the poor.
The National Assembly minority leader who had accompanied ODM leader Raila Odinga to Kisii for a fundraising drive accused the deputy president of taking advantage of the poor economic situation to loot money meant to boost their status and using the cash for his own gains including huge church donations.
“I have analysed the bottom-up narrative and I have come to a conclusion that it is meant to steal from poor Kenyans, while they build churches and buy helicopters with your money,” Junet said.
The vocal legislator further accused William Ruto of taking advantage of the poor economic situation in the country to lie to Kenyans that he can fix it up with his bottom-up approach once elected the fifth president in the 2022 General Election.
Junet who was speaking on Friday, October 22, asked Kenyans not to board William Ruto’s political narratives which he said is anchored on lies.
The ODM director of elections and campaigns said Raila is the most experienced of all the 2022 presidential candidates and that he could easily solve the problems bedeviling the nation.
“The only person who can help the country given his experience in politics is Raila Odinga,” Junet added.
With barely 10 months to the 2022 elections, the race to succeed retiring President Uhuru Kenyatta appears to have narrowed down to a two-horse race pitting the deputy president and the former Prime Minister.
William Ruto has been traversing the country popularizing his bottom-up economic model whereas President Uhuru Kenyatta’s handshake partner has been popularizing his ‘Azimio la Umoja.’
