Kabando wa Kabando dumps Martha Karua over ‘cultist politics’

Former Mukurweini Member of Parliament Kabando wa Kabando has notified the Registrar of Political Parties to deregister him as a Narc Kenya party member.

In a series of tweets on Tuesday, February 7, the outspoken politician said he was not satisfied with the avenues Azimio is using, as the official opposition party, to keep President William Ruto’s administration in check.

He further liked the opposition’s style of politics to cult adding that ‘cultist politics is bad for democracy.’

“As a matter of conscience and principle, I have instructed Office of the Registrar of Political Parties to deregister I, Hon Kabando wa Kabando, from Narc Kenya,

“I believe in leadership teamwork and honesty. I detest chicanery and corruption. I thank Martha Karua and wish her well in Azimio ventures,” Kabando said.

Kabando who joined the party in March 2022 said he will boldly continue keeping President William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza government in check.

“I’ll continue to boldly and independently, or in league with like-minded souls, play my patriotic part to keep President Ruto’s increasingly rogue regime in check. Sadly, neither ODM nor Narc Kenya is acting institutionally in this endeavor. Cultistic politics is bad for democracy,” maintained Kabando.

The politician by attending Raila’s weekly protests, Narc Kenya Party leader Martha Karua was going against their agreement on non-violent campaigns.

“We reiterate our resolve for clean, decent, issues-based, and non-violent Campaigns. Our focus is social justice, social democracy, and the war on graft,” Kabando tweeted.

His decision to cut ties with former Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance running mate Martha Karua‘s Narc Kenya party brings to an end almost a year of political partnership between the former assistant minister and the Narc Kenya leader.

Kabando wa Kabando unsuccessfully contested for the Nyeri senatorial position in the 2022 General Election. He lost the seat to the incumbent Wamatinga Wahome.
