Kakamega senator shares KCSE certificate to dispel rumors he failed exams

Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala has shared his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education(KCSE) to dispel rumors that he will be locked out of the Kakamega gubernatorial race for failing exams.

On Friday, May 28, Malala posted a copy of the KCSE with an advocate’s stamp saying it was indeed his legit certificate.

Malala, who is also the Kakamega gubernatorial candidate on an ANC ticket revealed that the papers had been given a clean bill of health by the Commission for University Education.

“The Commission for University Education (CUE) has duly certified and recognized my academic credentials and henceforth advised the IEBC to clear me to contest in the August 2022 gubernatorial election, Kakamega county,” Malala wrote on Facebook.

From the certificate, he shared, the outspoken senator, shows he went to Kamusinga National School where he scored a mean grade of B plain.

In terms of subjects, Malala scored B-(minus) in English, B+(plus) in Kiswahili, B- (minus)in Mathematics, B(plain) in both Biology and Chemistry, while Geography and Social Education and Ethics be he scored B+(plus).

“Those who cherish propaganda, feel ashamed. Attached are the true copies of my academic accolades.” The senator added.

Initial reports had indicated that the outspoken lawmaker who is a close ally of the Deputy President William Ruto failed his form four exam.

According to a copy of the certificate that was circulating on social media, it had indicated the senator scored a mean grade of C- (minus) with him scoring poorly in Mathematics and Biology where he got D+(plus).

Malala who is facing strong competition from Fernandez Barasa of the Orange Democratic Movement(ODM) recently has been in the news but negative ways.

Recently he caused uproar by claiming that National Police Service should be reserved for those who fail exams on the ground that their work only entails holding guns.
