Kakamega senator Boni Khalwale is yet again celebrating another milestone of one of his children.

Khalwale is never shy of celebrating his children’s achievements each and every time the Cabinet Secretary for Education releases national exams missed on the public eye in the 2022 KCPE results.

However, the vocal senator on Tuesday, January 3, took to social media to celebrate his son Ian Ipesa Khalwale who had successfully undergone the Isukha traditional initiation.

“Ian Ipesa Khalwale gets circumcised and joins mates in Irumbi seclusion camp in Malinya. He’ll stay here for 50 days. Traditionally this rite of passage is observed in August of even years. It has been tweaked to the long school holidays since the August holidays were too short,” the senator tweeted sometime back last year.

The youngster who had been secluded after he was circumcised barely a month ago was officially welcomed into manhood.

In a statement, the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) lawmaker said his son had concluded circumcision rituals and had gone through all the steps needed for circumcision.

“Ian Ipesa khalwale concludes circumcision rituals,” the senator said in a Tweet as he led Ian’s peers in celebrations occasioned with traditional songs and dances.

He said as it is a norm in the Isukha tradition, the senator was joined by other elders to celebrate the son’s milestone.

The seasoned politician revealed that he had seriously taken care of the Isukha community elders.

“I am grateful to our Isukha community elders led by Mzee Eliud Mushila for paying me a new year’s courtesy call in Malinya today,

“I have seriously taken the goodwill of your visit, your momentum, and your assurance that we are in this together and that I shall never walk alone,” Khalwale said.
