Kalonzo says Kamba community need to be brave like luos

Kalonzo Musyoka has sensationally claimed that Raila will be defeated in the August polls if he does not name him his running mate.

Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has accused his supporters of not turning out in large numbers during the anti-government protests called by the opposition.

Addressing mourners during the burial of renowned Kamba businessman Pius Musembi, the former vice president urged his community to emulate the Luos if they wanted him to unseat President William Ruto in 2027.

“Kambas should emulate Luos to win the presidency. If you developed a spine, the whole nation would take notice. Winning the presidency will take more than pressuring [Azimio leader] Raila Odinga to declare his support to Kalonzo. These things are never given. They are grabbed,” he said.

Kalonzo who was addressing mourners during the burial of renowned Kamba businessman Pius Musembi, the former vice president accused his lieutenants of being cowards.

“Kambas displayed utmost cowardice during the demonstrations,” Musyoka said at Kisioni Village in Makueni County on Wednesday, April 5.

Kalonzo who has revealed plans to vie for the presidency in 2027 made it clear that the coalition would not hesitate to abandon the talks and go back to the streets if they realize President William Ruto’s side is insincere.

Kalonzo challenged former Kitui governor Charity Ngilu and Senator Enock Wambua to show up should the ongoing dialogue between the opposition and the government fail to yield results.

“My sister Charity, I need to see you next time. If I am demonstrating I need to see you there,” he said.

However, in a quick rejoinder, Ngilu, who fiercely campaigned for Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party presidential candidate Raila Odinga maintained that she will not participate in the Azimio protests.

“Some leaders are saying that they cannot see Ngilu and it is true you cannot see me. I want to say that those who are asking about my whereabouts, started demonstrating just the other day while I have inhaled teargas since 1992,” she said.
