Kalonzo speaks on his hostile relationship with Governor Kivutha Kibwana

Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has opened up on his strained relationship with Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana.

In an interview on Radio Jambo, the former Vice President said he is aware that Governor Kivutha Kibana has Presidential ambitions, hence his decision to detach from Wiper.

“I am democratic, it is not a must for everyone to think like me, everyone has their own intentions. If someone wants to be a leader, you can not stop him, it’s his right,” Kalonzo said.

He added that a time will come when the likes of Governor Kivutha Kibwana will want to go back to Wiper.

“Its time for Kalonzo’s presidency. And when I raise that flag, you will see those governors towing the line and say ‘Kalonzo, go ahead’,” he said.

He dismissed reports that his influence in the Ukambani region is diminishing.

“There are others waiting on my chest, they also want to become Governors on a Wiper ticket. The party is standing strong, not only in Ukambani but the whole of Kenya.”

Recently, Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana announced his exit from Wiper Party and rejoined Muungano Party.

While making the changes, the county boss declared that he will be in the 2022 Presidential race.

“Kivutha Kibwana will be the President of Kenya because he will be on the ballot in the 2022 presidential elections,” he said.

Before leaving Wiper, there was hostility between Kivutha Kibwana and party leader Kalonzo Musyoka.

While Kalonzo accused the governor of gross misconduct, Kivutha insinuated that he is jealous of his growing popularity in Ukambani.

He was later called to face Wiper’s disciplinary committee.

“Let them (Wiper) do as they wish. I cannot stop them from ejecting me from the party. If I’m no longer useful to the party, I cannot stop them from doing what they want,” said Kibwana.
