The Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has given the clearest hint of working with the ODM leader Raila Odinga in the coming August 9, General Election.

Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has exuded confidence that the Azimio la Umoja –One Kenya Coalition party will form the next government if he will be picked as Raila’s presidential running mate.

In an interview with KTN News on Wednesday, April 27, Musyoka reiterated that just like in 2013 and 2017, a Raila-Kalonzo ticket is a sure bet.

“I don’t want to pre-judge the issue but I still think Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka is a ticket you can’t defeat in terms of quality and experience,” he said.

The former vice president who has been Raila’s presidential running mate in the last two general elections maintained that they won the 2013 and 2017 but their victories were snatched away.

“If in 2013 we won and in 2017 we won, now in 2022 as I have said that I will support Raila, obviously we will win,” Kalonzo said.

Kalonzo who was responding to a question on the dangers that await the former prime minister in this year’s General Election if the panel selected to advise on who is best to be Raila’s running mate does not pick him.

In 2013, ODM leader Raila Odinga picked the former vice president under the Coalition for Reform and Democracy (Cord) emerging second behind President Uhuru Kenyatta-William Ruto pair who was facing serious crime against humanity at the Hague.

In 2017, Raila again picked Kalonzo as his running mate a ticket that again lost to Jubilee’s President Uhuru Kenyatta.

In both cases, Raila and Kalonzo protested the outcome where the Supreme Court quashed their 2013 appeal.

However, in 2017, the Supreme Court annulled the election of President Uhuru Kenyatta where a repeat of the election was ordered but the NASA team boycotted handing Uhuru an easy win in the repeat of the presidential elections.
