Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka’s close allies have slammed claims that he asked for Ksh 3 billion to join the Azimio la Umoja movement led by ODM leader Raila Odinga.
Addressing the press at the Parliamentary building on Tuesday, February 15, Kalonzo allies led by Makueni MP Dan Maanzo said termed the allegations as merely political propaganda.
“The character and conduct of Hon. Kalonzo speaks for itself and is above reproach. He is a man who has no single tangible scandal to his name after being in leadership for almost 4 decades,” Maanzo said.
“Many Kenyans acknowledge Musyoka as the golden standard of leadership in Kenya being a God-fearing and family man with impeccable values that he aspires to inculcate into the Kenyan system once he assumes the leadership of this country in the August 2022 General Election,” he added.
The Wiper leaders were categorical that at no time has Kalonzo approached any formation with a price or imagined conditions.
The sentiments by Musyoka’s allies come after Machakos Governor, Alfred Mutua had on
Saturday, February 12 sensationally claimed the Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has demanded Ksh 3 billion for him to join Azimio la Umoja ahead of the August 9 General Election.
“We know that it is not that they are waiting to think first before they join Azimio, but they are waiting for money. We already know that they have demanded Sh3 billion,” Mutua said.
The Maendeleo Chap Chap party leader had further alleged that Kalonzo has developed a tendency of auctioning the Kamba community for his own personal interests.
“I have evidence that earlier years, they also demanded money. They have asked for money several times and they were given,” he added.
