Raila Odinga offered chance to join One Kenya Alliance as political realignments take shape

ODM party leader has been invited to join the One Kenya Alliance(oka) amid political realignments in the country as politicians seek to hang onto a political formation that will form the next government.

KANU Party leader Gideon Moi has extended an olive branch to the ODM boss, and other leaders in a strategy to edge out Deputy President William Ruto in the 2022 race.

Speaking during a church service in Kitui County on July 11, Gideon called on Raila to join him and Musalia Mudavadi(ANC), Kalonzo Musyoka(Wiper), and Moses Wetangula(FORD-Kenya) so as to unite the country.

“We are firmly in OKA together with my brother Kalonzo and but doors are wide open to accommodate more leaders. We want Raila and others to join us. We can’t afford to lock others out because everyone has a part to play in building the country,” he said.

Gideon Moi’s move comes amid political realignments in the country, where several political parties are mulling at forming coalitions to strengthen their chances in the 2022 General Election.

His invite to Raila Odinga comes amid serious talks to breathe life into the NASA coalition.

During President Uhuru Kenyatta’s tour of Ukambani region, ODM leader Raila Odinga invited him to join NASA coalition.

“We are talking and we are going to come together your excellency, and we are going to invite you to become a NASA member,” Raila told the Head of State.

In the occasion, Raila insisted on the importance of re-energizing NASA coalition.

Days before he reached out to the Head of State, Raila Odinga and Kalonzo had met Uhuru at State House, where they were talked into keeping the NASA coalition alive.

Now, it is evident that Gideon Moi has felt the political cold, and is interested in being conjoined with the NASA coalition.
