Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has explained how he sprang from a mabati house to popularity and got elected through URP in the 2013 General Election.

“In my mabati house where I lived, I had dug a hole. So I used to put there KSh 50 every day,

“After one year, I had saved up to KSh 21,000 including my salary,” Sudi said.

The 41-year-old legislator later invested his hard-earned cash in farming where he reaped a whopping KSh 141,000 for a whole year.

He later said he re-invested his money in the gambling business.

The vocal Tanga Tanga legislator said in 1999, he made his first trip to Nairobi to buy a TV set and a radio where he noticed how lucrative the gambling business was.

After returning to the Home of Champions, the lawmaker then invested in three poll tables in Kesses, Cherangany, and Mugundoi centers and expanded the business where he owned more than 24 pool tables.

In 2000, Oscar Sudi found the soul of his heart where he married and moved into his own iron sheet house before buying a matatu, a Peugeot 504.

It is at this juncture that his fortunes grew and later developed interests in politics.

During the 2002 General Election, Sudi supported political campaigns of former Eldoret South MP David Koros and later in 2007 Peris Simam, with whom they fell out before dethroning her in 2013.
