by Amos Khaemba

Oscar Sudi the Kapseret MP has lectured his opponents telling them to sell their agenda instead of questioning his academic credentials.

The vocal lawmaker disputed claims that he is illiterate and can’t communicate in English, saying he only speaks English when doing serious business.

Speaking during a burial ceremony in Soy, on Friday, January 21, Sudi accused his opponents of being petty.

“I listen to people saying that Sudi didn’t go to school, that Sudi can’t communicate in English. I challenge them to bring business deals worth KSH 5 million, they will see me speak fluent English. You can’t speak English yet there is no serious business unless you are mad,” Sudi said.

The vocal lawmaker accused critics for advancing the narrative of his academic records to kill his political career.

The ardent ally of Deputy President William Ruto challenged his opponents to sell their manifestos telling them that concentrating on his personal life won’t give them, votes.

“Sell your agenda to the voters. Look for a good network. If you cannot appeal to many voters then you have a lot to do, or better stay home,” Sudi said.

The outspoken lawmaker has been fighting claims he is not academically qualified to hold a leadership position.

According to the report by Mzalendo Trust titled 2020 Parliamentary Scorecard, Sudi was among the 31 MPs who have never spoken in parliament.

Currently the Kapseret MP has some pending court cases surrounding his academic qualifications that he is yet to clear his name.

In the ongoing case, Sudi is accused of forging academic papers so to be cleared by Independent Electoral and Boundary Commission (IEBC) in the run up to the 2017 election.
