Kimani Wamatangi has stated he decided to support William Ruto in the coming elections be the history of Raila Odinga is full of animosities

Kiambu Senator Kimani Wamatangi has revealed that he decided to support Deputy President William Ruto in the coming August elections because the history of ODM leader Raila Odinga is full of enmity.

Speaking on Kameme TV on Wednesday, March 30, Wamatingi said the ODM leader is a troublemaker who is known for disrupting the development agendas of the government of the day.

While highlighting historical events, the senator noted that the former preme minister has a history of causing trouble in the country.

“I read his history and established that he was the first to institute the 1982 coup d’état to overthrow President Daniel Arap Moi’s government,” Wamatangi said.

Wamatangi, who is also the Kiambu County gubernatorial hopeful, further alleged that Raila instigated violence in 2007 so that he would get a place in the coalition government with then-President Mwai Kibaki.

“I later established that he troubled President Kibaki until the intervention of Kofi Annan who oversaw the formation of the coalition government,” he added.

The gubernatorial hopeful claimed that Raila’s presence in Kibaki’s administration disrupted the working of the government.

While referencing the swearing of Raila as the People’s President in 2018, the senator said that the former premier cannot be trusted in the country’s leadership.

Wamatangi, who was recently replaced as the Senator Majority Whip, added that the ODM supremo cannot be trusted to honor his agreement with President Uhuru Kenyatta if he assumes power after the August polls.

“I decided to stay back so that should he go against the set agreement he had with the president, I will be there to fight for and support the Kikuyu community,” he said.
