Uhuru’s allie says he will die for Raila presidency

Nominated MP Maina Kamanda has said that he will put in all his effort to see that ODM leader Raila Odinga becomes the next President of Kenya.

The MP said that Raila means well for Kenyans, and he has made many sacrifices for the country for a long time now.

Speaking during an interview at Radio Jambo, Kamanda said that Kenya would not have been where it is today if not for the ODM leader; hence, he would even ‘take a bullet for him.’

“Raila has fought hard for the peace, stability and the democracy we enjoy in this country today. Nobody should cheat us that we would be where we are today without his sacrifice. As a region and for me, I will die for Raila,” Kamanda said during the Tuesday night interview.

The MP, who is a close ally of President Uhuru Kenyatta assured that once the Building Bridges Initiative biil is passed, the Mt Kenya region will speak in one voice and endorse Raila for 2022.

He said that someone who will consolidate the gains made by the March, 2018 handshake will be the best person to take after Uhuru Kenyatta as the head of state.

“We need someone who will be able to consolidate the gains made since the March 2018 handshake. Once the Building Bridges Initiative referendum sails through, the president’s backyard is going to speak in one voice, Raila is going to be our man,” he said.

Kamanda’s declaration comes when Raila Odinga’s ODM camp is faced by a storm over the BBI bill.
