Barasa who is under scrutiny for fake academic papers is expected to take a plea of causing bodily grievous harm to musician Steve Kay.

On Friday, July 30, members of the public were treated to a free-action movie after the legislator exchanged blows with the Vindu Vichechanga hitmaker.

This was after the MP had visited Baptist Lurare Primary School in Kamukuywa ward in his constituency where he was expected to commission five classrooms built from the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

However, atmospheres immediately changed after Steve Kay and his colleague Ronald Graham Wafula locked up the newly constructed structures claiming they are paid first before the classrooms could be commissioned.

MP Didmus Barasa was caught on camera slapping Steve Kay who had demanded to be paid KSh 3.4 million for the construction before he could hand over the keys.

Kay accused the legislator of conning youths by gifting those CDF tenders and failing to honor contractual agreements.

“When we asked the MP to pay us he kept saying he only pays contractor full dues upon completing a project and we should not be worried,

“I have closed these classes because they cannot begin to operate without me being paid as they will be spoiled by children and he might end up refusing to pay me completely,” he said.
