Kimilili MP goes missing after putting CDF car into William Ruto’s campaign

Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa has found himself in trouble after he for converting a government vehicle into William Ruto’s presidential campaign car.

It is reported that the vocal legislator took a National Government/Constituency Development Fund vehicle for Kimili Constituency and branded it in United Democratic Alliance (UDA) colors. UDA is a party heavily linked to Deputy President William Ruto.

The Tanga tanga politician further changed the registration particulars of the vehicle from GK944J to KBS 709D.

Kivumbi.co.ke understands the vehicle was impounded at Barasa’s Kimilili home after a serious operation by a contingent of detectives.

“Kimilili NGCDF vehicle with registration number GK948J has been impounded in the homestead of the Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa while fully branded with UDA Party Colours and photos and fixed with registration number KBS 709D,” blogger Robert Alai said in a long Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa has found himself in trouble after he allegedly stole a government of Kenya vehicle he intends to use in drumming up his re-election bid.

“In a joint operation involving the Government Check Unit officers from Nairobi, Serious Crimes personnel, DCI officers from Nairobi and Kimilili, the contingent raided the homestead of Barasa following a tip-off and towed the vehicle to Kimilili police station and later to Bungoma before heading to Nairobi,” a security official told kivumbi.co.ke.

The vocal Tanga Tanga legislator who is among the list of 25 politicians who have been red-carded has since gone into exile.

However, speaking from his hide-out, the legislator said he has so many campaign vehicles including those that were donated to him by friends, and that he will unveil them when the official campaign kicks off.

“I have so many cars. Some are donated by friends and are scheduled to be unveiled when the official campaign period begins. I will wait and see what the police will tell me, but i use the CDF vehicle on a daily basis,” he said.
