In the run-up to the August 9 presidential elections, the then Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua‘s fashion sense was under scrutiny.

Netizens wondered why the second-in-command was wearing baggy suits despite him being surrounded by people who know how to dress.

Kenyans often took to social media trolling Gachagua over his dressing style with many criticizing his design.

However, speaking on Tuesday, September 13, just hours before heading to Moi Sports Centre Kasarani, for his swearing-in, the DP assured Kenyans that he will transform his look in the next three months.

Gachagua, who rose from one-term MP to the second in command, blamed the previous regime for his poor dressing code, stating that the witch hunt by the government forced him to shift his focus and priorities.

A spot-check by Kivumbi.co.ke has found out that the billionaire businessman-cum-politician is currently the most improved celebrity in dressing.

For instance, a photo posted by Nyali MP Mohamed Ali captured Riggy G looking sharp in a black suit and a maroon tie.

As such, Kimilili Member of Parliament Didmus Barasa now wants Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s tailor rewarded.

In a statement on Monday, January 16, the UDA legislator said Gachagua’s tailor has transformed the second in command in just three months.

He said Gachagua who used to wear baggy suits now looks like a 35-year-old Christian and a truthful son of a Mau Mau fighter.

The youthful lawmaker suggested that Gachagua’s tailor be bestowed with a Head of State Commendation for the job well done.

“In my honest opinion, our Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s tailor should make it to the list of Kenyans to be bestowed with a Head of State Commendation,

“Nowadays, Kenya’s second in command looks exactly like a 35-year-old Christian and truthful mau mau son. Wapi makofi ya tailor wa Riggy G,” Barasa said in a Tweet.
