Murkomen warns One Kenya Alliance against joining Raila team

by Amos Khaemba

Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has cautioned One Kenya Alliance principles against joining Azimio La Umoja Movement saying Azimio is Raila and Raila is Azimio.

Speaking at Eldoret Sports Club, during the Deputy President Ruto’s rally Murkomen reminded the OKA leaders of failed promises by ODM leader Raila Odinga to run only for one term and support one of them saying that Raila cannot be trusted.

“We want Musalia, Wetangula, and Musyoka to work with us because those people have been conned the same way that we have been conned,” Murkomen said.

He reminded Kakamega senator Cleophas Malala who was present that the same way he is looking for friends, Deputy President Ruto is also looking for partners to form the next government.

Senator Cheruiyot was not hesitant to lash out at President Uhuru Kenyatta for “Using” Ruto to ascend to power in 2013 and 2017, and thereafter dumping his deputy.

Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa, welcomed Malalas’ presence nothing it’s a clear indicator that UDA is a national party unlike others.

“When you see Malala attending Ruto’s event, know that the signal points to a Ruto victory [in August 9 polls]. In Western Kenya, there’s that elderly man who likes to wear chains around his neck. He is fighting Malala, but he has no gas to sustain the fight,” Aisha Jumwa said in her address.

Kakamega Senator Cleophas Mulala, speaking at the same event, defended his attendance saying it’s based on the stand by ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi that is at liberty to associate freely.

“On January 23, ANC will hold its national delegates conference. On that day, we will unveil Musalia Mudavadi as our presidential candidate, and we’ll also allow Mudavadi to reach out to Ruto so that they can work together,” Malala said at the rally

Malala pointed out that Western region will stand firm and will not support Raila during the upcoming general election, warning those complaining of his friendship with Ruto to keep off.

But ANC through a press release was quick to distance itself from his attendance of Deputy Ruto’s rally saying the party did not send a representative to the event.

The ANC secretary general Simon Gakuru noted that the party has not sent anyone to represent the party leader nor the party itself, adding that official party position can only come from the party leader or him.
