Kirinyaga governor Anne Waiguru brags about her well-endowed husband

by Nderi Caren

Kirinyaga County Governor Anne Waiguru has bragged about her husband, lawyer Kamotho Waiganjo as she takes on her political rival who is also Kirinyaga county Woman rep, Purity Wangui Ngirici.

In a meeting at Kirinyaga county, Waguru said that while she likes the fact her husband is well-endowed, educated and handsome, she never let him into her political life unlike Purity Ngirici

Waiguru blasted the Kirinyaga Woman Rep for constantly dragging her husband in Kirinyaga politics yet the electorate did not elect him.

“You elected me your governor and not my husband, Kamotho Waiganjo, who is not only handsome, well educat, ated and well-endowed. I have never involved him in my day-to-day political activities as my rival does,” Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru said in an apparent reference to Purity Ngirici.

Kivumbi.co.ke understands this was an indirect attack at Purity Ngirici’s husband, who never shies away from displaying his massive wealth and is also said to be a primary school dropout.

The two Kirinyaga gubernatorial aspirants have been trading fierce barbs ever since Anne Waiguru was elected in 2017. Ngirici is eyeing the gubernatorial seat in 2022.

On Sunday, October 10, Andrew Ngirici, while attacking Waiguru, bragged about his wealth while he is proclaiming his apolitical allegiance to his wife, Purity.

The wealthy businessman also said he will not settle until his wife becomes Kirinyaga County Governor in 2022.

“(Purity) Wangui is my wife and I am her ardent supporter which (Anne) Waiguru should contend with as she prepares to exit from the gubernatorial seat for the new governor,” Ngirici said.

While responding to Waiguru’s attacks, the Kirinyaga Woman Representative said she does not mind walking around with her husband.

“I do not see anything wrong with my husband campaigning for me and since he is mine that’s why he is standing on this podium with me today,” she told supporters at a meeting at Thiba village, Mwea.

The rivalry between the two was intensified recently when Anne Waiguru hinted at decamping from the Jubilee party to join the United Democratic Alliance, a party associated with William Ruto and which Purity Ngirici has been a part of for a while.

On sensing the stiff competition that might be posed by Waiguru entry to UDA, Ngirici declared that getting a UDA ticket is not a matter of life and death for her.

She argued that she can still defeat Waiguru without the support of William Ruto.

“I know how the ground looks like since I am always with the people unlike the governor, who is still listening to what the ground is saying before she decides on her next move,” Purity Ngirichi said.
