Kirinyaga woman rep attacks Anne Waiguru again. ‘mwizi ni mwizi tu’

by Nderi Caren

Kirinyaga woman rep Purity Wangui Ngirici has launched a fresh attack on her biggest political opponent in the 2022 polls, Governor Anne Waiguru.

Since Anne Waiguru joined United Democratic Alliance on October 26, there have been concerns over how she would relate with Ngirici, with whom they hardly see eye-to-eye.

In a recent address to women in Kirinyaga County, however, Ngirici termed Anne Waiguru as a thief, who won’t change even after joining William Ruto’s camp.

“Mwizi ni Mwizi..(A thief is a thief) even no matter what you do, even if she joins UDA she will be a thief…even if she supports William Ruto she will be a thief,” Ngirici said in reference to her bitter rival Anne Waiguru.

Purity Wangui argued that Anne Waiguru has been opposing Interior PS Karanja Kibicho because he thwarted the Governor’s attempts to steal public land.

“There is no way I can call for the sacking of someone from my county ( PS Karanja Kibicho) because he is helping this county. If you see this woman (Waiguru) opposing Kibicho, it is because he brought us Kemri and this woman wanted to steal that land,” Ngirici said.

The Kirinyaga Woman rep launched this attack on Anne Waiguru a week after she called on the sacking of Karanja Kibicho for engaging in politics.

“I want to tell the President there are many people he can employ in Kirinyaga. He should replace Kibicho with immediate effect,” Waiguru said Ruto’s campaign in Runyenjes on Thursday, November 18.

Kirinyaga County has been a battlefield between Waiguru and Ngirici, who are both eyeing the gubernatorial seat on a UDA ticket in the 2022 polls.

For a long time, Anne Waiguru has been on the hook over the loss of KSh 791 Million at NYS when she was a Devolution Cabinet Secretary.

This and other corruption scandals in the county Government have left opponents painting her as a ‘thief’.
