Kirinyaga woman representative claims William Ruto watched as she was body shamed in UDA

by Amos Khaemba

Kirinyaga Woman Representative Purity Wangui Ngirici vowes never to associate with United Democratic Alliance (UDA) a result of the humiliation by the Ruto’s allies.

The once ardent supporterr of William Ruto was quoted by The Standard on Sunday, January 9 accusing Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa of body-shaming her in the presence of the Deputy President.

“Just imagine I was humiliated and body-shamed by the likes of Aisha Jumwa but (William) Ruto never uttered a word.” Ngirici was quoted saying.

She refuted the notion that Governor Ann Waiguru’s move to UDA is the reason she left United Democratic Alliance (UDA), a party associated with William Ruto.

“My issues are not mainly because (Anne) Waiguru joined UDA but the bullying which is happening in the party,

“Even at one time, I was insulted in the Tangatanga WhatsApp group where Ruto is. My husband too was dragged into it and called names but he could not defend himself,” Ngirici added.

Since she abandoned UDA, Ngirici has been critical of the party to the point she accused the party of having prevailed upon her to drop her gubernatorial ambition for another seat.

At one point she has called upon Kirinyanga residents to vote for Presidential candidates of their choice, a clear indication she no longer believes in William Ruto’s 2022 political narrative.

She recently expressed regret for using her recourses to popularise the party in the county.

The Kirinyaga woman representative has since decided to contest for the Kirinyaga Governorship on an Independent candidate, saying the people will choose leaders and not parties.

” No boardrooms, no networks, tukutane mashinani (lets meet at the grassroot),” Ngirici posted on her Twitter handle, a direct criticism against UDAs’ favoritism of Governor Ann Waiguru.
