Kirinyaga woman rep regrets investing money in Wiliam Ruto’s party

Kirinyaga Woman Representative Wangui Ngirici has expressed regrets in building William Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Party with her personal resources worth millions.

In an interview with the Standard Newspaper, Ngirici narrated how she converted her company; ‘Ngirici and Sons Rescue Team offices to UDA county offices.

Other than converting the center to UDA party headquarters, a fleet of vehicles that were serving Kirinyaga residents as ambulances from the rescue team was branded UDA colours, she claimed.

The entry of Governor Anne Waiguru into UDA Party has made the Kirinyaga Woman Rep regret investing in the party, only for the latter to join when the ground has been set for her.

She said this has taught her some tough political lesson, to never commit or hold divergent views so intensely.

“Only tricksters exist in the world of politics, loyalty is a mirage and ambiguous. I don’t even want to remember how much I have used to build the UDA party in Kirinyaga from scratch but I’m young in politics and still learning,” Ngirici said.

Ngirici gave hints of joining President Uhuru Kenyatta’s camp, where Anne Waiguru was before decamping to UDA.

Once a critic of the handshake, the Kirinyaga Woman Rep has turned to praise it, saying Uhuru and Raila Odinga had to work together for the good of the country.

However, the Woman Rep considers joining the handshake camp and would rather repackage herself to share her political lesson.

She has now declared that she is not part of William Ruto’s camp, and will not contest for the Kirinyaga seat under UDA.

“I’m still taking a back seat and seeking to know what is best for me and for the people. I’ll make my decision once and make it known,

“I no longer peg my hopes of being elected governor to Ruto. I entirely depend on God and the people of Kirinyaga,” Ngirici said.
