Kirinyaga woman rep Wangui Ngirici forced to defend her academic credentials online

Kirinyaga Woman Representative Wangui Ngirici was forced to defend her academic credentials at a time Kapsaret MPs fake academic papers case has gone viral for all the wrong reasons.

In a tweet, blogger Robert Alai questioned the grades that Ngirici scored in high school and the degree that she pursued thereafter.

The blogger insinuated that the Kirinyaga Woman Representative Wangui Ngirici is among the Kenyan leaders who have fake academic credentials.

“Purity Wangui Ngirici scored what at Kariti Secondary School? Please guys share. She now claims to have what degree? Let’s clean the mess now,” Robert Alai wrote in a tweet.

The comment caught the attention of Wangui Ngirici, who dismissed the same as propaganda being peddled by Robert Alai.

Ngirici said that she has credible academic records which are available in the learning institutions that she went through.

“My friend Fisherman (Robert Alai), do not bend your “big” head to ignorance and malice. All my academic records are straight and available with the relevant institutions. Instead tell us what made you get suspended in Onjiko Secondary,” Ngirici replied.

The online spat between the two comes at a time when Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi is on the frying pan for having fake academic credentials.

On Wednesday, October 27, administrators from the Kenya National Examination Council(KNEC) and the Kenya Institute of Management told a Nairobi court that Oscar Sudi’s academic credentials were not legit.

The college admission number on a diploma certificate that MP Oscar Sudi presented to the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission belongs to a woman named Scholastica Achieng Odhiambo.

On the other hand, a KCSE certificate that Oscar Sudi presented belonged to a man named Obaje Bob Onyango who was registered and sat for the national examinations at Parklands Secondary school.

The MP dismissed the reports, saying that he has more than 50 witnesses ready to testify in his favour.
