Tharaka Nthi senator Kithure Kindiki has dismissed the appointment of Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua as the best antidote to turn down DP William Ruto’s tide in the vote-rich Mt Kenya region.

“I doubt she will be able to turn the tide of UDA and Kenya Kwanza, not even in Kirinyaga. She will not withstand the tide of Kenya Kwanza It is too strong,” Kindiki said in an interview with Citizen TV on Tuesday, May 17.

While a section of political analysts argue that Raila’s running mate pick is the best to help him have the lion’s share of the huge voting bloc, Kindiki opined that Ruto’s wave in Mt Kenya is too strong.

The professor who claimed that he was rigged out in the search for Ruto’s running mate further said Karua will find it difficult to sell the Azimio la Umoja agenda to the Mt Kenya region.

On Monday, May 16, the Azimio la Umoja presidential flag bearer Raila Odinga named Martha Karua as his presidential running mate.

Karua emerged the best out of 10 other politicians who were also eying the same seat including Wiper boss Kalonzo Musyoka, Agriculture CS Peter Munya, Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya, and his Mombasa Counterpart Hassan Joho among others.
