Kuria: Kenya Kwanza doing 20 rallies a day compared to Azimio’s 2

by Amos Khaemba

Outspoken MP Moses Kuria has claimed that Kenya Kwanza alliance flag bearer William Ruto will easily win the August 9 elections going by the number of political rallies the alliance has been holding across the country.

In a Facebook post on Thursday, May 26, Kuria pointed out that the Kenya Kwanza alliance team has been holding 20 rallies in a single day across various parts of the republic.

According to Kuria, Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition party has been holding 2 rallies a day, which he says is not enough to pose a serious challenge in the upcoming presidential elections.

“William Ruto, Kithure Kindiki, Amason Kingi, Alfred Mutua and I have been doing at least 6 rallies a day in Coast and that includes a 5-hour Economic Forum.

“Rigathi Gachagua has been doing 7 rallies a day in Rift Valley. Musalia and Wetangula have been doing 7 meetings daily in Western. Baba has been doing one rally daily. Martha one. Are we even in the same race? We need to import competition from COMESA” Kuria said on Facebook.

But remarks by the Gatundu South legislator might not necessarily be true as the Azimio la Umoja-Kenya coalition party presidential flag bearer recently revised his campaign strategy.

Currently, the strategy being employed by both the Kenya Kwanza alliance and the Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition party ahead of the August polls is nearly the same.

While the Kenya Kwanza alliance has been holding economic forums before embarking on public rallies, the Azimio is Umoja-One Kenya coalition party has been holding leaders’ consultative meetings before conducting rallies.

Just like Ruto, the ODM leader has also set up various teams tasked with hunting votes for his 2022 presidential bid across the country.

For example, will the last 10 days, Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition party presidential running mate Martha Karua has held more than 40 public rallies.

On Friday, May, 27, Karua will begin a two-day tour of the populous Nakuru County to solidify Mt Kenya votes.
