Laikipia Governor Ndiritu Muriithi has exuded confidence that ODM leader Raila Odinga will beat Deputy President William Ruto hands down to emerge Kenya’s next president.

According to Muriithi, who is also Raila Odinga’s chief campaigner, the recently signed Political Parties (Amendment) Act has removed some major hurdles that would deny the former Prime minister a chance to ascend to power.

He said the Act which gave a node to the formations of a Narc-like coalition on whose Raila is expected to fly the coalition’s flag bearer in the August 9, General Election will greatly boost Raila’s chances of winning.

Laikipia Governor Ndiritu Muriithi has exuded confidence that ODM leader Raila Odinga will beat Deputy President William Ruto hands down to emerge Kenya’s next president.

“We were very much in support of the political parties’ Amendment Act that was recently ascended to by the President because it was removing some of the difficulties we have had in the past,

“We are quite certain that the presidential candidate who is going to win this election is Raila Amollo Odinga,” Laikipia Governor Nderitu Muriithi declared.

The new law allows Raila Odinga to vie on the Azimio la Umoja ticket coalition in the much-awaited August 9, 2022, presidential election.

The PNU governor further said that his party was against the recent bill seeking to ban the live transmission of presidential election results.

He said the proposal to amend election laws that sought to ban the live transmission of election results would brood to voter rigging adding that it would be so easier for the presidential elections to be altered on their way to Nairobi for final tallying.

“The recent amendment on the elections Act itself that had been introduced this week and we don’t support it at the party level or at the coalition level because wizi wa kura happens when there is that manual transmission,” he added.
