Laikipia Woman rep explains why William Ruto popularity in Mt Kenya has dropped

by Nderi Caren

Laikipia Woman Rep Cate Waruguru has revealed that Deputy President William Ruto’s popularity in the Mt Kenya region has reduced.

According to vocal Waruguru, Ruto lost his mojo on the ground after refusing to allow Mt Kenya leaders in his camp to have small parties.

“William Ruto is my friend, the day he started fighting with these people of Mt Kenya because of issues on small parties, his graph started going down,” Cate Waruguru said.

The Laikipia Woman rep said that there are people from Mt Kenya region surrounding William Ruto and misleading him.

She advised Ruto not to take Raila Odinga’s impact in Mt Kenya lightly, since he is capable of winning the hearts of voters with a good strategy.

“I would like to tell him, do not be confused by these conmen from Mt Kenya surrounding you. These other people have powerful men, even if others look powerless.

You cannot ignore the weight of the side in which government is, you can only ignore it at your own stupidity,” the Laikipia Woman Representative said.

She further called on William Ruto and his competitor Raila Odinga to keep off from local politics in the Mt Kenya region.

Waruguru said the Mt Kenya people are ready to negotiate with the two on presidential matters and not local politics.

“We said, at the top, we will talk, but locally we are organizing ourselves. I will tell our party leaders, William Ruto, Raila Odinga, and those other presidential candidates who want to come to Laikipia, don’t come to tell us who to vote for. Come ask for your votes,” Cate Waruguru remarked.

In a surprising turn of events, Cate Waruguru said that she has not made up her mind on whether to be behind Raila Odinga or William Ruto.

She confessed to being in talks with Ruto, saying she has not been approached by Raila yet.

This comes months after the Woman Rep defected to William Ruto’s UDA camp.
