On Tuesday, August 9, at least 14 million of the about 22 million registered voters participated in the highly anticipated General Election.
According to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), there are 290 constituencies which hundred of candidates were contesting for.
Each of the 290 constituencies is represented by a Member of Parliament elected by a simple majority of the registered voters with the jurisdiction.
According to the results, the majority of the legislators in the previous parliament could not retain their seats.
For instance, the majority of the MPs in the vote-rich Mt Kenya region who were allied to President Uhuru Kenyatta lost their seats to their UDA counterparts allied to William Ruto.
Kivumbi.co.ke has compiled a list of MPs who retained their seats or been elected in the just-ended 2022 voting process.
