The Kenya Kwanza Alliance has filed its response to the petition at the Supreme Court to reinstate William Ruto’s win in the just concluded election.
Ruto is seeking to reinstate Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chairman Wafula Chebukati’s results that saw him declared and gazette as the fifth President-elect.
In his petition filed on Friday, August 26, Ruto who was listed as the ninth respondent in the case wants the Supreme Court to dismiss Raila’s petition claiming that the election was free and fair and that Raila Odinga “is known for repeatedly rejecting poll outcome”.

“I have personal knowledge of the facts relevant to the determination of the issues raised in presidential election petition No. 5 of 2022 by having been a candidate in the election,” Ruto said in his response.
In the case, the President-elect has unveiled a team of legal experts who are expected to face off with Raila Odinga’s battery of lawyers to defend his win.
