A section of allies to ODM leader Raila Odinga and his main rival, Deputy President William Ruto, are likely to undermine their plans to succeed retiring President Uhuru Kenyatta due to their loose mouths.
Political analysts say these supporters may be denying victory to those who are vying for the presidency because of their wishes which appear to contain hate messages without their knowledge.

In William Ruto’s political camp, Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has been linked with a series of hate speech messages.
For instance, the vocal legislator over the weekend blasted former Internal Security Assistant Minister, Stephen Tarus, over a statement from the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, that he read at the burial of Olympian Agnes Tirop.
The legislator accused Tarus of only pushing Raila Odinga’s agenda because of the monetary benefits he was enjoying.
“CAS of Sports is here reading us statements but the national government has not done anything for these athletes. We have very many conmen here, even this government is just full of conmen. Another one here is purporting to read a statement from Raila, this is just fraud,” Sudi stated.
Sudi went ahead to claim that Tarus had authored the statement that he purported was from President Uhuru Kenyatta’s handshake partner Raila Odinga.
“I can tell you for free that Tarus has written that statement himself. All these people are just frauds. I saw Tarus speaking in Eldoret the other day against Ruto. Your stomach is very small compared to all these people, don’t speak against someone from your own bloodline,” he added.
Rigathi Gachagua
Mathira Member of Parliament Rigathi Gachagua has been lately known for castigating President Uhuru Kenyatta and his handshake partner Raila Odinga.
Gachagua has sensationally claimed that the ODM leader is a government project yet President Uhuru Kenyatta has not officially endorsed Raila who is expected to give a fifth stab at the presidency.
Jane Kihara
On Sunday, October 24, Naivasha MP Jane Kihara sharply criticized President Uhuru Kenyatta’s handshake partner claiming that his supporters had been seizing certain community houses without paying rent.
“Junet is adding on top what we already know. In 2007, those people illegally took over our houses and were not paying rent, in some cases, up to date. In Kibera and Mathare, they are not paying rent in the houses they forcefully took over,” she said.
Junet Mohammed
Suna East MP Junet Mohammed sensationally claimed that the presidency would belong to the Nyanza people if Raila Odinga wins the 2022 presidential election.
“If ODM chief Raila Odinga wins the 2022 presidential race, the government would belong to Nyanza people,” Junet said in Nyamira.
Although the legislator has however said that he was misquoted and that his words were taken out of context.
Oburu Odinga
In May this year, Raila Odinga’s elder brother Oburu Odinga sensationally claimed that he was confident his brother would emerge victorious in the 2022 presidential race as he had the support of the ‘Deep State’.
“Why haven’t we gone to State House when we have actually won the elections through votes? This is because there is something which we were missing and that something is called the system,
“Some people are saying ooh..the system is not important but it is…and now we are with Uhuru Kenyatta who is holding the system plus our votes which are always more than the others..so what else do we need?” he posed.
Such utterances suggest Raila’s handshake partner President Uhuru rigged himself into State House while competing against Raila Odinga in 2013 and 2917 general Election.
While there was no reactions from the president or his people, such utterances only serve to turn President Uhuru’s supporters against Raila.
George Aladwa
Last month, Makadara MP George Aladwa told Nairobi Senator Johson Sakaja to stop masquerading as a Luhya in his campaigns of drumming up support for Musalia Mudavadi.
Speaking on Sunday at the PAG Church Karen in Langata constituency, the former Nairobi Mayor also asked the Mulembe community not to rally behind Johnson Sakaja as he was not their kinsman.
”Stop masquerading as a Luhya and claiming to support Mudavadi for President. You are called Koskei, a Saboti from Mt Elgon. We are the real Luhya voters in Nairobi,” the ODM legislator said.
Analysts opine that if these leaders could just keep quiet, their preferred presidential candidates could easily win the elections.
Already, Kenya’s Deputy President William Ruto appears keen on the choice of the people to speak at his rallies and convey the intended message to the public without attracting negative energy.
In most of his recent public rallies, Ruto has been without a host of his key political allies known for divisive public outbursts that have for long been tainting his reputation.
