Political analyst Makau Mutua has poked holes in William Ruto’s political camp saying it only attracts corrupt politicians.
In a statement posted on his official Twitter handle on Thursday, January 27, Mutua, a law professor based in the United States further said the majority of politicians joining his camp have numerous corrupt skeletons in their cupboards.
“Deputy President William Ruto is the most scandal-ridden politician in Kenyan history. This is his soft underbelly. Those who’ve joined him have many corrupt skeletons in their cupboards,” he said.
Mutua, a staunch supporter of ODM leader however threatened that he will expose all allies of the deputy president with questionable characters in the coming weeks.
“I will expose all in the coming weeks. They are going to wish they never joined politics. Watch me,’’ he added.
His remarks come at a time when the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), a party heavily linked with the former Eldoret North MP has been receiving guests almost every day.
Over the weekend, Deputy President William Ruto announced a political partnership with Amani National Congress leader Musalia Mudavadi and Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetang’ula ahead of the August 9, General Election.
In 2019, Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang’ula was linked into a fake gold syndicate that had defrauded dozens of unsuspecting foreigners in Nairobi.
This was after a complaint by members of the Dubai royal family were said to have been defrauded close to KSh 400 million by the fraudsters.
Other political leaders mentioned in corruption allegations who have joined William Ruto’s camp include Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru who was heavily implicated in the National Youth Service saga.
