The 2-time governor admitted their 43 years in marriage has not been smooth and like any other marriage, has been filled with ups and downs.

“Celebrating our 43rd marriage anniversary today. Married at 24. We have shared God’s love with each other.

Plenty of love’s ups & some downs. As Simi sang: Love Don’t Care. You choose whom to love and you love them to the end. I would marry you all over again. Happy anniversary,” Governor Kivutha Kibwana wrote on Twitter.

In a past interview, the Makueni  Governor revealed that he met Nazi through their shared love for drama and theater.

In 1973, Kivutha loved theatre, and Nazi at the time had won the best actress award during the secondary school’s drama festival.

Nazi is the current first lady of Makueni County and is well known for her work in Non-governmental organisations.

In 2013, she started a foundation named Shina that focuses on three main areas; health, education, and empowerment.

With her husband contesting for the Presidential seat in 2022, Nazi Kibwana might also become Kenya’s 5th First lady.
