Martha Karua blasts William Ruto for weeping during prayers

The unending exchange of words between Deputy President William Ruto and Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition party presidential running mate Martha Karua is far from over as the campaign period enters the homestretch.

More often than not, the Narc Kenya party leader will waste no opportunity to hit out at the second in command through her social media accounts or at political rallies.

Recently, the former Gichugu MP said that the deputy president William Ruto is politically immature to be the president due to what she described as his anger issues.

On Wednesday, August 3, Martha Karua once again hit out at Ruto after he was captured in a video shedding tears uncontrollably at a prayer session.

Karua, while speaking at a campaign rally in Bukhungu Stadium said people should stop pretending to be Christians stating that Christianity is not about shedding tears.

“Ukristo sio jina wala machozi, ukristo ni tabia. Wacha ukristo wako ukutangaze sio wewe kujitangazia. Na Jesus hana deputy wake hapa duniani. Wacha kujifanya Deputy Christ,” Karua said in remarks obviusly directed at William Ruto.

Loosely translated to “Christianity is not about shedding tears. Christianity is about character. You should know, that Jesus Christ has no deputy on Earth. Stop pretending to be Jesus Christ’s deputy.”

Karua further said that not all who call on Jesus will get into the Kingdom of God.

“Let me explain to you in the Bible, Jesus said it is not everyone who calls Jesus, Jesus will get into the kingdom of heaven,” she added.

During the praise and worship session on Tuesday, August 2, the 2022 presidential election front runner got into an intense prayerful mood with tears flowing down his cheeks.

In a clip that went viral, Ruto who was seen standing next to his wife Racheal Ruto was seen overwhelmed by emotions prompting him to bury his face in his hands to control the flowing tears.
