Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua has reiterated her denial to deputise any of the presidential front runners in the 2022 State House race.

Karua who was recently elected as the interim spokesperson for the Mount Kenya Unity Forum said the deputy president position only requires her to work for her boss, not for the millions of Kenyans.

Speaking to Radio Citizen on Monday, November 15, the 2013 presidential candidate said she wants to focus on a position she can independently fight for.

“A Deputy President’s position is not something you contest; you just hang around and be nice to others, waiting to be called. If you want service stand on your own,” she said.

Her remarks come at a time when several poll surveys have named Karua as the perfect running-mate in 2022 who can balance out the risk factors posed by some of the know 2022 presidential contenders.

A week ago, outspoken Gatundu MP Moses Kuria endorsed Martha Karua for the position of deputy president stating that the Iron lady has the integrity, stamina, and starling record for both multiparty and human rights.

“I want to endorse Martha Karua for the position of Deputy President. She has the integrity, she has the stamina, she has a sterling record as a crusader for both multipartism and human rights,

“All these people (Kalonzo, Musalia, Ruto, Raila) are a risk to this country. The de-risking factor is Martha Karua. We are safe in the hands of Martha Karua as Deputy President,” Kuria said.

Karua has expressed her interest to unseat embattled Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru in the 2022 General Election.

The Kirinyaga gubernatorial seat has also attracted Kirinyaga Woman Rep Purity Ngirici, former Kirinyaga Governor Joseph Ndathi, former Mwea MP Peter Gitau, Chomba Ndau, and sitting Deputy Governor Peter Ndambiri.
