Martha Karua says she is not looking for job in William Ruto’s government

Tharaka Nithi County Assembly Speaker John Mbabu on Tuesday, December 20, urged Chuka/Igambang’ombe MP Patrick Munene to ask President William Ruto to give Martha Karua a job.

“Talk to the Head of State so that she can be given a job even if it is somewhere in State House,” Mbabu said.

But speaking during the burial of Narc Kenya party official Mr. Miriti Boore who was the first Member of the County Assembly for Karingini ward, Karua said she was not interested in any job offer from the Kenya Kwanza government.

Karua, a fierce critic of President William Ruto said that she will remain in the opposition to keep the new administration in check.

She said she was comfortable being in the opposition and that Kenya is a democratic country.

“I am not looking for any job in the government. The work of opposition is enough for me and I am comfortable with it,” Karua said.

Last month, former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s 2022 presidential running mate insisted that the country must have a strong opposition to counter President Ruto who she says was morphing into the worst dictator.

Karua who spoke at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Foundation on the ouster of the four break-away IEBC commissioners said Ruto had failed to constitute a panel for the recruitment of three IEBC commissioners whose terms of service come to an end in January 2023.

“Instead of forming a panel, he (President William Ruto) is busy to have the act amended so that he can create a commission of his heart,” Karua said.
