Martha Karua warns Raila Odinga’s opponents. ‘He is a campaign machine’

by Amos Khaemba

The Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua has warned presidential aspirants against underrating the Orange Democratic Movement leader Raila Odinga’s capability for the August 9 presidential race.

Speaking on Inooro TV ‘Kiririmbi’ program on Sunday, February 13, Karua said it was wrong to label the former prime minister a project yet historically he has established himself without state support.

“The project tag is not fitting. Raila is a self-made politician,” the Narc Kenya party leader said.

Karua, who is also one of the One Kenya Alliance (OKA) principals wondered why Deputy President William Ruto and his brigade are labeling Raila a project yet they are students of Raila Odinga political classes.

“Raila Odinga is a campaign machine, those calling him a project -he has taught them politics, even the strategies they (William Ruto and others) are using they have copied from Raila,” Martha Karua stated.

At the same time, the Kirinyaga gubernatorial candidate was upbeat that OKA will provide strong competition for the August General Election.

“The 2022 elections is not a two-horse race, there are new entrants in the race,” Karua said.

DP Ruto and his Kenya Kwanza brigade have sustained an attack on President Uhuru Kenyatta for forcing the former prime minister unto Kenya.

The DP Ruto team has recently questioned the capability of the ODM leader to lead the country accusing him of being a puppet for President Uhuru.

“We are telling the president to spare us the kitendawili (riddle) experiment. The country of Kenya cannot afford the kitendawili project,

” Sisi tunamuunga mkono rais lakini project ya kitendawili haiwezekanini katika Kenya (We support the president but we do not support project Raila Odinga),” Ruto said in Kirinyaga recently.

“I want to tell my friend, the president of Kenya, that the people of Kenya rejected a project 20 years ago. There is no way they can elect anybody’s puppet (in August 2022 presidential elections),” Ruto said in Bungoma recently.
