John Mbadi: I am sure Musalia, Wetangula, and Kingi’s children are embarrassed by them

by Amos Khaemba

Orange Democratic Movement party chairman John Mbadi has castigated Musalia Mudavadi, Moses Wetang’ula, and Amason Kingi for apparently signing a skewed pre-election agreement with Deputy President William Ruto.

Addressing the press on Thursday, May 12, Mbadi suggested that even the trio’s family members of must be very surprised by their decision to sign.

According to Mbadi, there is no way a right-thinking politician would sign an agreement that has a condition that is bear-impossible to meet.

“Then a friend of yours will be made the speaker of the national assembly only if you deliver 70 % of the Luhya votes to my presidency. And you put that in agreement and you sign, someone who is intelligent?

“Am even wondering whether their children are looking at them and wondering do we have right-thinking daddies. I cannot envision how a normal human being who has been in politics even for a day can sign such a document.”Mbadi said.

Mbadi sentiments come after details emerged on how William Ruto-led Kenya Kwanza coalition intends to share positions should it form the next government after the August 9, elections.

In the agreement, Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi will be named the Prime Cabinet Secretary whereas his Ford Kenya counterpart Moses Wetang’ula’s party will have the Speaker of the National Assembly position.

Mudavadi and his Ford Kenya counterpart would also be allocated 30 % of all government appointments including Cabinet positions.

But for the Mulembe nation supremo’s to get those positions, the agreement requires them to deliver 70 % of the Luhya votes cast on August 9.

On the other hand, Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi of the Pamoja Alliance Party (PAA) has been promised the Senate Speaker slot but on the condition that he brings at least 50% of the total presidential votes cast in his county.
