Exiled Kenyan lawyer Miguna  Miguna claims that the Kenyan government has blocked him from getting into the country on Tuesday, November 16 as scheduled.

On his social media, Miguna claimed that he has received a notice of a red alert imposed on Air France by the Kenyan government.

After flying from Canada to Germany a day ago, Miguna was told he can not board his next flight to Paris and then Nairobi, his final destination.

“Berlin Brandenburg International Airport. Being refused boarding on flight AF836 Air France due to Red Alerts received from Kenya this morning. They fear me because they are extremely weak and unpopular. I’ll keep you updated,” Miguna wrote.

He went ahead to show the letter given to him by the airline, which indicated that he has been denied a boarding certificate because of the red alert imposed against him.

“Here is the document Air France has given me. They have refused to state “Red Alert.” But they have indicated that it is obvious and they empathise with me but that there is nothing they can do. Let our legal team get to work. Thanks, everyone for the support. Aluta Continua (the struggle continues),” said the controversial lawyer.

The lawyer was supposed to be at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport on November 16, 2021.

Lawyer Nelson Havi and former Chief Justice Willy Mutunga went to Canada to accompany Miguna on his maiden trip to Kenya.

While announcing his plan to aid Miguna in his third attempt to fly to Kenya, Willy Mutunga said it is within his constitutional right to come back to his motherland.

“My Decision After careful reflection and following broad consultations with lawyers, human rights and justice defenders, progressive politicians, and Miguna himself,

“I have decided to travel to Toronto, Canada, to accompany Miguna on his flight back to his motherland on 16 November 2021,

“I am also seeking out Kenyan journalists who will accompany me on this historic journey,” Willy Mutunga wrote in a statement.
