by Enock Ndayala

Exiled lawyer Miguna Miguna has finally jetted back into the country after being in exile for over four years.

The controversial lawyer touched down at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airpot (JKIA) on Thursday, October 20, a few minutes past 6:00 am.

Addressing journalists and his supporters immediately after landing, the fiery lawyer lauded Kenyans for installing President William Ruto’s administration, to which he has attributed his return.

Miguna, who bitterly fell out with Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition party presidential candidate Raila Odinga said he would not have been back home if his former boss won the August 9, presidential election.

The lawyer expressed gratitude to all the parties who played vital roles in his homecoming.

“I am very grateful for the warm welcome you have given me and I’m extremely happy to be back home. I extend my gratitude to all Kenyans who have stood with me, who stood with the bill of rights in the constitution, the cost of justice, the dictates of democracy, and rule of law. I would like to extend my gratitude to the Judiciary who stood firm on the side of the rule of law,” Miguna said.

Miguna’s return comes barely a week after the self-styled general revealed that the Kenya Kwanza government had lifted the red alerts imposed on him nearly five years ago.

“The government of William Ruto and Rigathi Gachagua has lifted the Red Alerts Uhuru Kenyatta illegally imposed against me with the connivance of Raila Odinga,” he said.

Miguna was ejected from Kenya in early 2018 on grounds of committing treason after he administered a presidential oath to the then NASA leader Raila Odinga.

Miguna is expected to attend the Mashujaa Day celebrations that will be held at Uhuru Gardens before proceeding to State House for a luncheon with President William Ruto and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
