Miguna Miguna: Tim Wanyonyi is a coward, not good to be MP

by Enock Ndayala

Deported lawyer Miguna Miguna has sensationally claimed that Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi is unfit to be the legislator.

In a statement on Thursday, April 28, the controversial lawyer said Wanyonyi is a coward who has never debated in the National Assembly.

“Tim Wanyonyi may be a good man. But he is a coward and has never legislated in Parliament,” Miguna said in a Tweet.

According to him, Wanyonyi is not as eloquent as his competitor in the Westlands parliamentary seat Nelson Havi, something he says could be the reason why he does not legislate in parliament.

Miguna said while he does not agree with the former LSK boss on many issues, Havi could make a good MP for Westlandsdue to his eloquence and brilliant ideas.

“President Nelson Havi has been my lawyer. We don’t agree on many issues. However, he will be the best MP for Westlands. Parliament deserves eloquent and brilliant warriors like Nelson Havi,” Miguna said.

Wanyonyi had expressed interest in the Nairobi Governor’s race, but dropped his bid after ODM, Jubilee, and Wiper, which are affiliate parties in the Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya Coalition, agreed to front Polycarp Igathe and Philip Kaloki as the gubernatorial pair in the August 9 polls.

Tim is expected to face off with Nelson Havi for Westland’s parliamentary race in his year’s General Election.

Wanyonyi will be seeking a third term to represent the people of Westlands on an ODM ticket while Havi will be seeking his first term on a United Democratic Alliance, a party heavily associated with Deputy President William Ruto.

However, Havi said the return of Tim to Westlands does not scare him in any way.

“His return to Westlands doesn’t adjust, in any way, how I look at the race. As an incumbent, he has an upper hand, but that doesn’t take away anything from my candidature. I am committed to serving the people of Westlands as their MP,” Havi told The Standard.
