On Monday, May 16, Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition presidential candidate Raila Odinga announced Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua as his 2022 presidential running mate.
Karua beat the other 10 politicians who appeared before the selection panel for consideration to be picked as the 2022 presidential running mate for Raila Odinga.
While analysts opined that Raila picked the former Justice Minister Martha Karua to counter William Ruto’s 2022 presidential running mate Rigathi Gachagua, controversial lawyer Miguna Miguna argued that President Uhuru Kenyatta was the one behind Karua’s pick.
In a statement posted on Twitter, Miguna said that Uhuru did not want his ‘girlfriend’ Governor Anne Waiguru to lose her gubernatorial seat to Karua.
For a long, there have been rumors that President Uhuru and former Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru are or were lovers.
According to Miguna, the president did not want Waiguru to face stiff competition from Karua adding that the former Gichugu MP could easily deny Uhuru’s ‘girlfriend’ a win in the Kirinyaga gubernatorial contest.
Miguna was deported to Canada after he swore Raila Odinga in as the people’s president further said Uhuru was after ejecting Karua from the Kirinyaga gubernatorial race so that Waiguru can easily beat her bitter rival Anne Ngirici.
“Uhuru Kenyatta did not pick Martha Karua as conman Raila Odinga’s running-mate because he loves to see Raila as president or wants to empower women,
“But because he loves Anne Waiguru more and would like her to have Ngirici for breakfast alone on August 9,” Miguna said.
Among those who eying Raila Odinga’s running mate slot include Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Agriculture CS Peter Munya and Murang’a Woman Rep Sabina Chege among others.
Others on the list were Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya and his Mombasa counterpart Hassan Joho, former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth, and former Emgwen MP, Stephen Kipkiyeny Tarus.
