Millicent Omanga: Wiper leader Kalonzo should just join William Ruto’s camp

by Enock Ndayala

Nominated Senator Millicent Omanga has warned Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka against joining Raila Odinga’s Azimio la Umoja.

While enticing the former vice-president to join the yet-to-be registered Kenya Kwanza Coalition, the vocal legislator accused the Azimio la Umoja brigade of mistreating and demeaning the One Kenya Alliance (OKA) co-principal.

Omanga an ardent supporter of Deputy President William Ruto said Kalonzo will only be safe in Kenya Kwanza Alliance saying he will be valued and treated with the due respect he deserves.

Nominated Senator Millicent Omanga has warned Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka against joining Raila Odinga’s Azimio la Umoja.

“Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka should join Kenya Kwanza coalition. This is his home where he will be valued and treated with the respect he deserves,

“I empathize with him and frown upon the way he’s being mistreated and demeaned by Azimio la Umoja,” she said in a Tweet.

The Wiper leader has remained cagey on supporting Raila Odinga for the third time in his quest for the presidency, arguing that the 2017 pre-election deal under the National Super Alliance (Nasa) be used as the basis for negotiations, a demand that has complicated the matrix of the Azimi- OKA deal.

“I am ready to work with Raila but under three pillars of a grand-coalition government for the sake of our nation. I urge that as we engage in fresh negotiations, this document (the 2017 deal) forms the basis of such negotiations. In both cases, he remains a brother with whom I have labored in good faith, to bring true democratic change to our county,” Kalonzo said.

However, as the deadline for registration of coalitions appears to be fast approaching, KANU Party Secretary-General Nick Salat has advised Baringo Senator Gideon Moi to abandon his OKA partner Kalonzo Musyoka and join ODM-Jubilee co-led Azimio.

Speaking during the launch of the KANU’s 2022 manifesto on Wednesday, March 9, Salat accused Kalonzo of taking so long to make up his mind.

“He is taking so long. You know, if he has refused, just leave him. There is no time to babysit him,” Salat said.
