Molo MP dumps Jubilee party for William Ruto

by Amos Khaemba

Molo MP Kuria Kimani has ditched President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee party for United Democratic Alliance (UDA), a party led by Deputy President William Ruto.

The legislature was on Sunday, February 6, officially welcomed to UDA by William Ruto at his official residence in Karen.

After his defection, Kimani took to Twitter and announced that he will be seeking re-election for the Molo parliamentary seat on a UDA ticket.

“I have served my Jubilee party diligently. As I look forward to serving the people of Molo as their Member of Parliament for another term, I will be seeking this mandate through United Democratic Alliance (UDA).” Kimani said on his Twitter handle.

Other leaders who were present as Kimani was welcomed to the party include Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro and his Mathira counterpart Rigathi Gachagua.

Nyoro took to social media and welcomed the first-term legislature to the Hustlers movement.

“Karibu to UDA – Kazi ni Kazi Molo MP, Hon Kuria Kimani (KK). The Hustler Nation received Hon CPA KK Sunday Morning. Karibu sana Bro,” MP Nyoro stated on Facebook. The move by the Molo legislature comes less than three days after President Uhuru hosted Jubilee MPs at State House.

During the Jubilee Parliamentary Group (PG), the president told his troops that he will soon hit the campaign trail.

In a press release by Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju after the State House meeting, Uhuru is said to have warned those who think Jubilee is dead to watch out.

“If anyone asks you where Jubilee had been in the near past just tell them we had gone to work to serve Kenyans,

“Now Jubilee is back in the political arena as we prepare for the forthcoming General Election,” President told the leaders.
